It is also used to treat infections, eczema, parasites, psoriasis, and vaginitis. Roots are hypoglycemic, antiinflammatory and stimulate the cardiovascular system. Root bark is anticoagulant and hypotensive in nature.

Uses : Bark of cutch tree is strong antioxidant, astringent, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal in nature. It is useful in passive diarrhea, high blood pressure, dysentery, colitis, gastric problems, bronchial asthma, cough, leucorrhoea and leprosy. It is used as a mouthwash for mouth, gum, sore throat, gingivitis, dental and oral infections. Heartwood is used to yield concentrated aqueous extract i.e. cutch. Cutch (extract) is astringent, cooling, and digestive. It is useful in cough, diarrhea, ulcers, boils and eruptions of the skin. Decoction of bark is given internally in case of leprosy. Helps to cure pile when taken with lemon regularly.

Uses : According to ayurveda, roots are useful in hydrophobia whereas bark is acrid, cooling, galactagogue and good for gynaecological disorders. Fruits are astringent to bowels, styptic, tonic and useful in the treatment of leucorrhoea, blood disorders, burning sensation, fatigue, urinary discharges, leprosy, menorrhagia, epistaxis and intestinal worms. According to unani system of medicine, leaves are astringent to bowels and good in case of bronchitis whereas fruits are useful in treatment of dry cough, loss of voice, diseases of kidney and spleen. Bark is useful in asthma and piles. Latex is applied externally on chronic infected wounds to alleviate edema, pain and to promote the healing. The tender leaf buds are applied on the skin, in the form of paste, to improve the complexion.

Uses : It is used internally in habitual constipation, functional disorders of the colon resulting from the misuse of laxatives and irritable colon, as a demulcent preparation in gastritis and enteritis.Externally, the powdered seeds or the press-cake are used as an emollient, in poultices for boils, carbuncles and other skin afflictions. The oil pressed from the seed (linseed oil) has been used for a variety of industrial purposes and the oil-free meal could be fed to livestock. Seed poultice is also useful in bronchitis and other deep-seated inflammation is recommended for gouty and rheumatic swellings. Uses : These berries are promptly and diffusely stimulant, especially influencing the kidneys and bladder. They are principally employed in gleet and sub-acute gonorrhea, but should never be used in the inflammatory stage of these or any other maladies. From their warming action, they have been used in atonic dyspepsia, but mostly as a stomachic with true tonics, and their use in gonorrhea is as valuable for covering the disagreeable taste of copaiva, as for their action on the kidneys. Large doses are said to produce headache and dizziness, probably from the augmented cerebral circulation. A tincture of cubebs may be prepared by macerating (or percolating) four ounces of the berries with a quart of diluted alcohol of which half a fluid drachm or more may be used as a dose. A fluidextract is sometimes prepared by treating a pound of cubeb powder in a close percolator with ether till a quart has passed, distilling off a pint and a half of the ether and spontaneously evaporating the remainder. A brownish or greenish oleoresin remains, of which from five to fifteen drops may be given on sugar. Berry is considered a carminative, diuretic, expectorant, stimulant, and antiseptic. Cubeb Berry has been shown to be effective in easing the symptoms of chronic bronchitis. It is also used for digestive ailments and is effective in treating dysentery. Cubeb Berry also has a local stimulating effect on the mucous membranes of the urinary and respiratory tracts. The herb has often been associated with the reproductive system and has been used to treat cystitis, leucorrhea, urethritis and prostate infections. Cubeb oil is effective against influenza virus and Bacillus typhosus. It is good stimulant of the body organs due to presence of astringent and bitter taste.
